Kamoizumi Sake Brewery

Enjoy a moment of pure indulgence provided by the pioneer of junmai sake

Kamoizumi Sake Brewery was originally founded in 1912 as Maegaki Sake Brewery. The name Kamoizumi comes from Kamo, a local region, and the fact that their sake is brewed using the renowned spring water Myoga Shimizu located along the Saigoku Highway.

As a pioneer that revived Junmai sake brewing in Japan, Kamoizumi has grown into one of Hiroshima’s leading producers of junmai sake (pure rice sake). Their rich, full-bodied sake with a beautiful golden-yellow hue is highly regarded by sake enthusiasts both in Japan and around the world.

Shusenkan, a renovated wooden Western-style building from the early Showa period, is a popular location for tourists. Vistiors can enjoy a world of sake that delights all five senses, including sake tasting, sake-infused sweets, and coffee or matcha brewed with water that was used to brew sake. You can also experience traditional Japanese culture at Aisenkan, an indigo dyeing workshop.
